Have you ever finished stringing beads onto a necklace or bracelet only to discover that you made a mistake right near the start or the thread you are stringing them onto isn’t long enough? Maybe you are re-stringing a broken piece of jewellery and want to find a quicker way to re-string instead of taking all the beads off. Then this guide is for you.
This guide works for tiger tail thread and any other thread that uses a needle.
Re-stringing with the beads in the same order:
Take the new piece of thread you are planning on threading the beads onto and simply start threading onto the beads alongside the thread they are currently thread onto. Continue all the way along the necklace or bracelet until you reach the end. Once all the beads are on the new piece of thread, cut the old piece (take care not to cut the thread you have just added the beads to!) and pull the old thread out from the beads.
Re-stringing beads and add in/taking out individual beads:
Add the ends to your necklace or bracelet as you would do normally. If you have made a mistake with your pattern, add the new thread up to the point where you made the mistake and then remove from the string of beads. Add in missing bead(s) or skip the bead(s) that is in the wrong place and then continue threading through the beads as before. Once all the beads are on the new piece of thread, cut the old piece (take care not to cut the thread you have just added the beads to!) and pull the old thread out from the beads and add the ends to your necklace or bracelet as you would do normally.
