There is nothing worse than getting to the end of a necklace or bracelet that you have spent a lot of time and effort on to finish with a crimp in the wrong place or to realise that you need to go back and change a section of the design after you have crimped.
Do not worry, there is an easy way to remove crimps that have been put in the wrong place on your design.
Simply ‘crimp’ the crimp from the sides using chain nose pliers. So, for example instead of squashing your crimp on the flat surface that you already created when you crimped it, crimp it from the ‘edges’ that have been created. You will need to squash it fairly hard.
Depending on the crimp, you may find that it simply opens back up allowing you to smoothly remove it or it may break off in bits. If it breaks off in bits, take extra care when removing these bits from your thread as there could be a sharp bit that could cut your thread.
Also, take extra time and care when removing it from tigertail as if there is a sharp part it can strip the nylon coating from the tigertail and if removed too quickly it can cause the end of the tigertail the curl.
